Rodney Darwin

Rodney Darwin, President - Darwin Business Evolutions

Rodney Darwin was educated at the Savoy Hotel & Training School in London, England and Paris, France. His studies continued at the Cornell Hotel School in Ithaca, New York.

Darwin has substantial Senior Executive experience in international corporate hotel management, including a wide range of deluxe and 1st class hotels in Europe, North America, Asia and the Australasia. Since 1990 he has lived and worked in China, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong. His business experiences cover hotel and resort development (start-ups) and operations management (including ski-golf resorts, deluxe desert island resorts, business ventures, leisure hotels and a convention centre in Macau).

Darwin has worked on a wide range of projects, from operational reviews of a major international hotel chain, to the development of hotels, resorts and a casino complex; He has also consulted for and with Government Tourism Organizations in Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore. In 1998, subsequent to working in Indonesia, he joined the Hospitality consulting arm of the US based PricewaterhouseCoopers as Regional Director Hospitality South East Asia, located in Singapore. His other consulting experience includes moderating a management-employment relationship development program for an international deluxe hotel company, creating operations reviews and recommendations, as well as developing marketing and feasibility studies.

Darwin was the opening General Manager of the Pantages suites hotel & Spa and the Cosmopolitan Toronto, two successful Boutique hotels located in the downtown core.

In early 2006, Darwin launched his own business specializing in assisting organizations in the areas of Operations Risk Management and the development of LIVE Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
